20″x24″ Original Acrylic Painting, “Belonging – Family”

1 in stock

This painting of a family of mustangs from Onaqui, Utah is the fourth painting in a series titled, “Belonging.”

As I watched these horses for hours interacting with each other and relaxing near a water source I had a powerful sense of belonging. The wind was whipping, the sun shinning, the sound of the wind was in my ears. Just the elements of wind earth and horse. That’s the feeling behind this series of paintings – to show how much a part of the landscape these horses are. How they lend a type of magic to the earth and create a sense of place. They belong. Each horse has a quiet strength and perseverance that says I deserve to be here, to occupy this space, to breathe this air. These horses ask nothing of the viewer, other than this. To allow them to be.

25% of the profits from this sale will go to the American Wild Horse Campaign, a nonprofit organization fighting to ensure the future of America’s iconic wild horses and burros and the Western public lands where they roam.
