Description
This 16″x40″ portrait is in honor of a stunning blue roan mustang I saw in Utah who was covered in dark battle scars. The contrast between the evidence of many fights and the peaceful way he stood there in the west Utah desert wind was captivating. I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. He was an essential and elemental part of the landscape. His presence was solid and ethereal at the same time. The colors in this painting will bring a touch of the American southwest to any room, and would make a lively and gorgeous focal point.
I hope somehow my art can enable people feel a little of the connection I felt to time and place out there in that purple mountain majesty with the wind, sand, juniper and mustangs. An incredibly moving and uniquely American experience.
